Strategies for Navigating a Divorce with Brooke Brundige, Educator and Ministry Leader

Divorce takes you out at the knees, doesn’t it?  It certainly doesn’t line up with the life you imagined. And if there are kids involved, the co-parenting piece can be another devastating piece of the puzzle. So much to navigate. So much to grieve. So much to figure out. I’ve been there too. It’s a club I certainly wish I weren’t a part of.  But I would love to share resources, tools and insight to help you in this difficult season.  It’s hard to believe you will ever feel even remotely happy again, but I assure you, it’s possible.  The steps you take are important in charting a course that will lead to redemption and happiness.

Loss: Unique Support for Your Grief, Heartache, and Sadness with Amy Habben, MEd.

In her book, It’s Ok That You’re Not OK, Megan Devine writes that no one knows your grief as well as you do and ultimately all your grief needs expression.  Everyone has experienced grief & loss in life yet often we don’t process how it has affected us or receive grief support that helps.  Whether it is ambiguous loss, an “out-of-order” death, grieving the life you always expected for yourself, losing a dear family member or friend, or processing overall loss (such as a job or move) in your life, I will walk with you in precious time.  We will discover grieving tactics, survival rules, and overall understanding, compassion and skills to navigate life’s altering losses.  This package session will give you the space & freedom to cope and love life ahead.

Improving the Educational Experience for Your Child with Samara Herrera, MSW

The learning journey for a school-age child/children can have confusion, challenge, and anxiety around every corner. And that’s probably just Tuesday. I can help you to isolate a particular issue so you can develop a plan forward that allows you and your student to fully engage in your education system. In this program, you will: Create a ‘solution map’ that identifies the core challenge facing your student, what resources are available to support you/your student, and manage outcomes related to the solution. Explore your current educational landscape for additional support and opportunities. Reduce the anxiety associated with decision-making fatigue, insufficient information or change-management related to your issue. Find hidden sources of compassion for yourself and gratitude for the current challenge. Learn to differentiate your feelings about the issue from those about your child or their unique personal genius.

Strategies for Surviving a Devastating Diagnosis with Brooke Brundige, Educator and Ministry Leader

Have you or someone you love received a devastating diagnosis?  Me too.  Ugh, just utterly heart-breaking.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and spent a year filled with appointments that led me to multiple surgeries and chemo.  I was eventually cancer-free.  I was one of the lucky ones.  My amazing brother didn’t get so lucky with his diagnosis.  He was diagnosed with A.L.S. in 2022 as a 53-year-old stellar athlete at the peak of his career.  He died less than a year later.  I walked closely with him and his family through the process…diagnosis, appointments, vacations to cherish moments together, weekly “bro nights,” and many hours of bedside family time.  So deeply devastating and yet every single moment with him felt like a gift.  I learned so much.  I would love to walk with you through the diagnosis and illness you or a loved one is facing, and we will together create a path for you to wherever that leads you.

Increasing Compassion Among Differences with Samara Herrera, MSW

Albert Einstein was convinced that the path toward our own personal liberation was through “widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures.” But the complexity of current society means that, often, we find ourselves locked in habits of ‘othering’, judgementalism, closed-mindedness, and isolated from people who look, think, or live differently from us. I believe a daily regimen of curiosity, patience, reflection is a good start. Let me help you get your prescription filled. In this program, you will: Work to distinguish between judging actions and judging people with objectivity, clarity of thought and equanimity. Learn to interrogate, challenge, and dissolve your biases. Curate practices of self-reflection rooted in your previous experiences that will shape an empathic curiosity about others. Examine your environment opportunities to deepen engagement and develop new relationships beyond what is most familiar to you. Identify places where certain beliefs have made you more rigid and less receptive to difference.

College Admissions Coaching for Teens & Parents with Amy Habben, MEd

The multitude of options and expectations of the college admission process may be overwhelming and difficult for teens and their families to find the best fit for their own college goals. Today’s high school guidance counselors often have limited margin to work one on one with students regarding their college ambitions. I am here to work with your high school sophomore, junior and/or senior to help identify their academic interests, coordinate their campus visits, manage the application process, consider funding options and make a final decision with confidence regarding one of the more important decisions of their lives. Some have found the application process for parents to be a full-time job as they endeavor to help their teen effectively navigate the complexities of an effective college search. With over eleven years of college admission experience serving private and state institutions, a graduate degree in higher education and a personal journey with my own two children, I am eager to walk alongside your family in this exciting process with a plan, accountability and clear goals for higher education hopes.

“Dear God, WTF???” with Brooke Brundige, Educator and Ministry Leader

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve uttered these words.  Disgruntled at another loss, another gut-punch, another seemingly impossible set of circumstances.  How do we lean in and believe in hope when our actual life seems to be proving otherwise?  Sometimes it takes a deconstruction of our childhood beliefs, those rituals and religious ism’s that never quite felt right in the first place.  And in our darkest, loneliest, most hopeless moments…that’s when God has felt most real, most tangible to me.  What does it look like to tether to God when you are falling…and then to slowly rebuild from the ground up…into a faith that you can actually believe in whole-heartedly? Together, we will explore that for you. This program will help you identify what you need and how to find it.
