Keeping Kids Safe: Opioids, Fentanyl, and the Role of Narcan, Wednesday, Oct. 8, 7-8:30 p.m.

$39.00

This class is designed to educate parents and caregivers about the growing risks opioids pose to our children, with a focus on fentanyl—a powerful synthetic opioid increasingly found in counterfeit pills and street drugs.

Taught by Meghan Macy, Nurse Educator and Family Nurse Practitioner, we will explore how to recognize the signs of opioid exposure or overdose, understand the dangers of accidental ingestion, and learn the facts about Narcan (naloxone), a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. Attendants will have the opportunity for a hands-on learning experience using Narcan.

In addition, Kim Brown, a licensed clinical social worker and school counselor will offer guidance on how to talk with your teens about drugs in a way that is age-appropriate, open, and supportive—helping you start important conversations that can protect their health and well-being.

This class will empower you with practical knowledge, tools, and communication strategies to help keep your children safe in today’s challenging environment.

This class is geared towards parents/caregivers of tweens and teens in terms of content but you are welcome to attend if you have younger children.
