Our Team

Ginger Rothhaas, Founder

After getting an MBA and a career in change management consulting, Ginger found herself on a new journey: to seek a life with deeper meaning. She went on to earn a Master’s of Theology and a Master’s of Divinity and found her calling: to teach others to see their worthiness, find their purpose, improve their relationships, and live up to their full potential.

She began her individual coaching practice in 2017, then formed Compassion Fix and went on to build a team of coaches. As founder, Ginger is a writer, consultant, teacher, and speaker who leads an experienced team driven by a passion for helping others find their purpose and heal through the transforming power of compassion.

In her free time, Ginger enjoys reading, taking long walks, and listening to “way too many” audiobooks. She also loves nights in with her family, laughter-filled dinners with friends, watching sunsets in the flint hills of Kansas, and dreaming about her next vacation—swimming in the ocean is her “happy place.”

Ginger has a forthcoming book entitled Being Human: 150 Practices to Make it Easier which will be available November 2023. It is filled with tools that we can all use to help us along our human journey together.

Brooke Brundige

Brooke’s background as a high school teacher and coach is what first fueled her passion for working with kids and families. Since then, she’s gone on to work in children’s and family ministry, walking alongside others to guide them and equip them with the tools they need to help discern and live by their values. (Along the way, she’s raised four kids of her own!)

Brooke believes mental wellness is crucial for teens and young adults as they face the struggles that come with navigating this great big world. Her experience in coaching has given her both the compassion and conviction to believe that often, what you need most is someone rooting for you.  Brooke also specializes in working with people of all ages who are going through difficult seasons “in the valley.”  Her own life-altering struggles have led to heartbreak and loss, but also paved the way to healing and a deep desire to help others through similar struggles.

When it comes to hobbies, Brooke is all about the outdoors—and if mountains are within reach, even better. Whether it’s pickleball, snowboarding, or shooting baskets with her kids, there’s nothing she loves more than “playing outside with my people!”

Dr. Leslie Dunn

Leslie holds both Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kansas.  Her educational background is in experimental psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology -- mind-body relationships and responses to stress.  Her passion in psychology is developing healthy self-worth; she contributed to a new definition of self-esteem that is not the old version of “everyone wins a blue ribbon.”  She believes that self-worth is the bottom line for psychological health and well-being, that it cannot be given but must be earned, that it rests on core principles, and that these principles can be taught to anyone of any age.

Leslie’s began her career at Midwest Research Institute, and from there moved to Marion Laboratories in research and development, strategic planning, and business intelligence.  She then accepted an offer from Ewing Kauffman to come to the Kauffman Foundation, where she served as Director of Research and Development and Director of Project Essential, which addressed social, emotional, and character development of children Grades K-8.  The project eventually spun off as its own non-profit, The Teel Institute.  For over 30 years Leslie has worked to help teachers, parents, and other youth-serving professionals implement programs for developing healthy children “from the inside out.”  The programming of the Institute reached 30,000 children, with hard evidence of success.

In addition to coaching and writing, Leslie works with Compassion Fix to design assessment tools for coaches and clients and to develop training methods for coaches.

Leslie’s other life passion is riding.  She and her husband own 3 horses, and she is never happier than when on horseback – jumping, working cattle, trail riding, and anything else one can do with a beloved equine partner.  Leslie also enjoys cooking for family and friends, loves music, and plays classical piano.

Amy Habben, MEd.

With a master’s degree in higher education, Amy started her career as a mentor, counseling and advising both high school and college students. She also spent 14 years working in care ministry, providing support and resources to those within a large church community facing physical, financial, emotional, or spiritual hurdles.

Amy’s passion is in walking alongside her clients, helping them to navigate life’s journeys—everything from relationships and parenting to feelings of loss and overwhelm. She has deep expertise in long-term relationships, spirituality and grief and considers coaching to be a culmination of her life’s training and experiences; her true calling.

Outside of mentoring, Amy loves spending time near water—especially stand-up paddleboarding and yearly vacations in Michigan. She’ll walk with anyone, in any weather (she calls it “one of her love languages”), and says she’s a “huge fan” of her family, her friends, and her coffee.

Heidi Weigel, LPC

Heidi joins the Compassion Fix Team as a licensed professional counselor (LPC), specializing in therapy for kids ages 6 - 18. Heidi holds a BS in elementary education from Kansas State University and an MA in counseling from MNU. She recently completed a certificate in Play Therapy also from MNU. Heidi has worked in the school setting at both the elementary and middle school levels. She is the proud mother of three grown children and understands the many challenges children are facing today. Heidi is passionate about supporting kids as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, perfectionism, negative self-talk, lack of confidence, loneliness, and difficult transitions.

In order to create a comfortable environment, Heidi considers each child’s age, personality, interests, and presenting issues when selecting a therapeutic approach. Although each client’s path is different, she strives to provide therapy that will empower children and teens as they gain personal insight, seek growth, and implement strategies to create a meaningful path forward.

As a collaborative team, Heidi works closely with parents in a non-judgmental environment to strengthen family connections and discover new ways to support their child.

Heidi enjoys spending time in nature, the sound of her kids laughing, discovering new places with her husband, and challenging herself with all kinds of creative endeavors.

Samara Crawford Herrera, MSW

Samara believes her path toward helping others finding and unlocking their human potential or personal genius is rooted in her own winding journey in life. From service to her country as an Officer in the United States Navy, to a Masters of Education and work as public-school educator and, a Masters of Social Work focused on social justice policy and advocacy, Samara holds each life experience, professional and otherwise, as a “data point” on the pathway to a purpose-filled life. That purpose: helping individuals, specifically young adults (17-25), early professionals and mid-career changers understand their unique talents so they can thrive in life and work.

Deep self-worth is built at the intersection of the 'study of self' and the development of our distinctive talents. Our personal genius, much like a talent, is a pattern of beliefs, mindsets, and actions that when applied, unlocks the fullness of our power and potential. However, it is common for the beauty of our genius to become overlooked, undervalued, and undiscerned. Samara helps people pause and take a step back from themselves, their lives, and the overwhelm they feel from the many choices and paths before them to identify, treasure and cultivate their genius. She believes we ‘sort and filter’ life better when we’re doing so in the clarity of our genius.

While personal genius is Samara’s focus at Compasion Fix, she’s excited to support a variety of people as they navigate their unique strain of “humanness.” A wife and the mother to a very ‘spirited’ teenage daughter, on Saturday mornings (but not too early), you can find Samara curled up on the couch; a good book in one hand, coffee in the other and a trashy Lifetime movie on the TV.

Jenna Hyatt, LMT

Jenna started her professional journey as a licensed massage therapist and owner of a bodywork studio. With extensive experience in healing through the release of emotional stress and trauma in the body, she’s now expanded her expertise to include coaching and helping others through the healing power of talk.

Jenna’s background in forming deep relationships through her work has given her a passion for helping those going through major transitions—like divorce, changing careers, or anything that invites with it a fear of the unknown. She believes that having someone walk with you can make all the difference in helping you get exactly where you need to go.

In her spare time, Jenna is a self-proclaimed homebody who loves boardgames, hanging out with her friends and family, and cooking anything and everything. She loves challenging herself to master a recipe, and is currently hard at work on crab rangoons.
